What inspired the idea for your book?
My husband and I traveled the country in a Bluebird and visited all the national parks we could muster.
If you were friends with a character in this book, what kinds of things would you do together?
We’d be like Shirley and Thelma – up to our necks in hi-jinks.
How do you define success as an author?
A review from a reader that says it gave them a good laugh and a needed break. Plus a movie deal would be nice.
What comes first for you — the plot or the characters?
Characters.
As an author what do you think makes a good story?
The ability to paint the picture in a sentence or two so that your reader is transported to that scene. Like a movie.
What do you look for in a story as a reader?
I can’t wait to sit down and get back to reading the story

Who is your audience?
Women who read cozy mystery books.
What has been your favorite reader feedback?
They are all favorites.
How do you interact with your readers?
Facebook, goodreads. I try to find ways to interact. It’s still a challenge.
What is your favorite genre?
I love detective books and thrillers.
What advice would you give to a writer working on their first book?
Just do it.
What is the first book that you remember reading?
Fairy Tales.

Aside from writing or reading, what are your hobbies or interests?
I teach group fitness classes and have done that for 30 years. Lately SilverSneakers.
Describe yourself in as few words as possible.
Impatient.
If you had your own talk show, what would the topic be and who would be your first guest(s)?
Well I do book buzzes with PatZi Gil on Joy on Paper and it’s all about the joy on paper. http://www.radio-joyonpaper.com/book-buzz-mysteries/
If your book were made into a movie, which actors would play your characters?
Sandra Bullock to play MC in my Mary Catherine Mahoney series.
What is something you can do better than anyone else you know?
Whine.

Paranormal Cozy Mystery
1st in Series
Solving a murder might raise her spirits. But will it spring her spectral friend from Purgatory?
Mabel Gold still isn’t sure what happened. Traded by her husband for a busty bimbo the same age as their youngest daughter, the feisty sixty-something rejects the retirement community and heads west in a vintage camper. But the RV comes complete with a ghost who needs a good deed to get into Heaven, and cracking open a homicide at their first stop in Savannah could give them both a new lease on life.
Determined to dig up the dirt on the dead wheeler-dealer, Mabel and her phantom companion tackle the crime. But with two rich dudes from Dubai, a Willie Nelson lookalike mobster, and a widow nicknamed The Barracuda all on the suspect list, conjuring up the truth could take a real live miracle.
Can Mabel catch the killer before she’s the next soul crashing the Pearly Gates?
Wheeler-Dealer is the high-spirited first book in the hilarious Ghost & the Camper kooky mystery series. If you like golden-girl sleuths, zany characters, and sardonic humor, then you’ll love Rita Moreau’s witty whodunit.
