Meet Andi Grace Scott
by Jackie Layton

Hi, I’m Andi Grace Scott from Heyward Beach, South Carolina located in the low country. We’re north of Charleston and south of Myrtle Beach.

I’m a dog walker and have lived in Heyward Beach all of my life. I had dreams and plans of going to college and traveling the world. My dream has always been to visit France one day. After a tragedy took my parents from us, I remained home and raised my siblings.

I’ve never been much of a cook, but I can make a grilled cheese sandwich to rival anybody else. We have Palmetto Cheese down here. It’s known as “The Pimento Cheese with Soul.” The recipe for Palmetto Cheese originated with Sassy Henry. She began making it for tailgating parties before attending Braves games. When Sassy’s family moved to Pawleys Island, she made it every week as an appetizer at the Sea View Inn.

These days you can buy Palmetto Cheese at your local grocery store. I butter bread, slather on Palmetto Cheese, and grill sandwiches for my family. We prefer to eat our grilled sandwiches with potato chips, dill pickle slices, and an ice-cold Coca Cola. Lunch doesn’t get much better than this.

I also enjoy coffee and trying different flavors. In my humble opinion, life’s too short not to try different flavors. If I ever meet you in person, I’ll probably encourage you to experiment. I’ll probably also take you to Daily Java. Our local coffee shop also features many delicious pastries. Some people worry about the calories, but I’m on the move throughout the day walking and playing with dogs, and so far I don’t have to watch my weight.

I also stay busy looking into murders. The first time, I walked into a house for a dog-walking appointment and found a friend dead. In Dog-Gone Dead, my brother is accused of killing one of the locals. I couldn’t just sit back and do nothing.

Come join me in Heyward Beach as I look for clues and try to track down killers while continuing to walk dogs and watch over my siblings and friends.

If you love small-town coastal life, dogs, and strong heroines, you’ll love Dog-Gone Dead.

About The Book:

Who’d have thought mulch could cause such a stink?

Low Country dog walker Andi Grace Scott is happy to score some free mulch from one of her brother’s landscaping jobs—until she discovers the dead body buried beneath the bark.

Worse, her brother’s landscaping tools were used to commit the murder. Once the police arrest her brother and seem happy to have “caught their man,” Andi Grace has no choice but to track down the real killer. She’ll risk everything to prove her brother’s innocence. Even if it means turning over every rock in town.

If you love small-town coastal life, dogs, and strong heroines, you’ll love Dog-Gone Dead.
