This is the marvelous second installment of the Butterball the Poodle series and it is quite enjoyable. Butterball is left on her own as her Mummy runs some errands. She digs under the fence in her yard and starts an adventure that leads her far from home. Much like her day at the beach in the first book, along the way she makes new friends and learns fun facts about the other animals in her world.
The art is colorfully engaging and it complements the story format well. This is a great story to read to little ones as it also offers new knowledge about animals, some color and counting practice along with a subtle moral about making good choices. At the end of the story, again like “Butterball Goes to the Beach”, children are encouraged…
