Minty's Kiss (Smoky Mountain Romance Book 1)Minty’s Kiss (Smoky Mountain Romance Book 1)

When Molly’s marriage ends in divorce, like her mother before her she finds refuge in the family vacation cabin in the mountains of southwestern North Carolina. Unlike her mother, Molly fully intends that this be a new start for herself and her young daughter, Gracie, who is reeling from her father’s decision to leave them and sail around the world. As Molly reconnects with her previous life and old friends she finds that memories and feelings are hard to leave behind.

I am going to go on record right at the start, this story was too short, just too darned short! Okay, usually I say that because there are so many loose ends or too much story left to tell and as a reader, I am left hanging with a need to read more and nothing left to read. I am actually impressed by how much storytelling was done in such a small space and if Molly and Nick got together a bit too fast, that is more history than instalove, which is what generally tends to turn me off of romance novellas. If I say it is too short it is simply because I just want to spend more time in this place with these people and that is never a bad thing.

This is an easy read, fun feel-good Holiday story and it is a wonderful introduction to the Smoky Mountain Romance series along with the town of Murphy, which is obviously a small close-knit community full of highly relatable characters that will be fun to get to know as the series progresses. Through Molly’s eyes the reader is able to catch up quickly on a bit of who is who in town with a little history thrown in for fun and Murphy sounds like a great place to raise a family, start a new life or maybe just visit for the season and I have already picked up book two in the series to see what happens next. Actually, I picked up books in a couple of series.

  1. Thank you so much for your kind words about Minty’s Kiss! I wrote the book as a novella to go into a box set, but I fell in love with the characters and ended up writing three more books about this sweet community of people.
