My Review:

Leo ReviewI read many adult books every week, but there is a soft place in my heart for children’s books. This book found it. It is the delightful tale of two sisters and their quest to save a fairy princess. Along the way they learn that the power of imagination and belief can transport them to another world or make their fears stronger.

The sisters are obviously close and Ruthie must tell her little sister some terrific stories. I love how Marion (aka: Bunny) trusts her sister Ruthie (aka: Ninja) as their exciting make-believe adventure becomes more real. While it is nothing new for the imagination of a child to open a new world, making their costumes real in the fairyland was a nice touch. Imagination is a powerful tool in the hands of a child, because they just haven’t figured out that things are impossible and they see the world through unbiased eyes. It is wonderful to find stories that encourage them to stretch those imaginative muscles. I especially enjoyed that the younger sister in her guise as a harmless bunny was able to effect change. It is a wonderful example of what children can accomplish when they have faith in themselves.

This is wonderful story to read to the pre-school crowd. Early readers will find the story easy to learn and easy to follow. Kids who enjoy tv shows like Dragon Tales, will enjoy this story and I hope for many more adventures with these sisters to come. I enjoyed sharing it with my son, who volunteered to review the book as well. Read on to see his review.

Bunny and her sister Ninja were called to save the fairy princess Isla in Fairyland. They find a great monster stalking the princess, but in the end they learn that fear can make monsters bigger.

Kara headshot Ninja BunnyAbout the Author

Kara S Tyler is the real world name of author Pavarti K Tyler.  As Pav, her books have spanned genres and won many awards, however, they are geared toward an adult audience. Now that she’s writing children’s books, Kara has decided to use her real name.

The Adventures of Ninja and Bunny first came about because of a fabulous conversation overheard between Kara’s two children during a very long car ride.  The two young girls spent over two hours debating various aspects of Fae politics and social structure.  Without realizing it, the girls were building a world so real, Ray Bradbury would be proud.

Kara lives in Baltimore with her husband, two children and two terrible dogs.  She is a full-time author and mother.
